Loving What Life Gives You: Goals, Dreams, and Throwing It All Away | Personal Post

Today I want to talk about something that has been very real in my life in the last few years and something that I think a lot of people work through each and every day…Loving what life gives you! (This will circle back to my artistic and entrepreneurial ventures, I promise) Now, I’m talking about working hard, planning, and dreaming, but not reaching those goals in a way or on the timeline you WANT…and learning to love where you are anyway, despite disappointments in your ca

We're A Small Piece of This Big World | Hiking in Our National Parks | Personal Post

(Canyonlands - Island in the Sky District - Grand View Point Overlook) This past weekend I arrived back in WI after 10 days on the road to Utah with plenty of stops along the way. We explored 5 different national parks in Colorado and Utah and spent a few days near Boulder, CO. I'm thrilled to share a little glimpse into this amazing trip through photos today and will probably ramble a little too much about certain hikes and experiences along the way (bear with me!!). I als

A Small Adventure in a Big World | Personal Post | Porcupine Mountains

Big Carp River Trail - Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Photo taken on iPhone I am newly back from quite the adventure up in the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and wanted to share some of the amazing things I saw and some of my reflections along the way. The title of today's blog has a sort of double meaning because, yes, I was on a short hiking and backpacking adventure out in the wilderness that can make one feel so very small (in what I b

Green, Clean, + Sustainable | Eating Food. Real Food.

Eat Food. Not Too Much. Mostly Plants. I'm sure you're sitting there trying to figure out what exactly I'm going to talk about today and what 'eating real food' is supposed to mean. OR maybe you know exactly what I mean and can relate... I read a few really great books over the summer by investigative reporter and journalism professor Michael Pollan. The two books, "Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals" and "In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto", really

Achieving Your Goals | A Matter Of Passion

Happy Thursday everyone! Today, I want to talk with you briefly about achieving goals and just how hard that can be. I'm going to talk specifically about my journey starting a creative business, but really hope that anyone who is working toward a goal or reaching for a dream can relate! Personal goals and dreams usually stem from our passions and passion is exactly what is needed to fuel our journey toward success - however you choose to define it. Being over two years out

World Wildlife Day | Serious About Wildlife Crime

Outdoor Art Festivals | A Community of Creative People

I've been a bit behind with my blog posts, but with two big art shows to prepare for, I thought it best to focus on the artwork and catch up on the writing later. Two weekends ago, I was in Appleton, WI at their annual Art at the Park event. It was my very first outdoor art festival and, man, did I learn a lot. I was incredibly nervous in the days coming up to the event because I had no idea what to expect or if I was truly prepared. Fortunately, my dad came along to help
